In the suspended moment before a competitive dive, we see freediving at its purest — countless training hours, mental preparation, and personal growth all focused into a single breath. These moments don't just test limits; they expand the boundaries of what's possible in our sport.

That's why Molchanovs began sponsoring freediving competitions in 2023. We believe competitions are the evolution of freediving, creating opportunities for athletes to showcase their abilities, safety standards to advance, and our global community to come together in celebration of human potential. By providing premium gear, vouchers, and media coverage to competitions across the globe, we're investing in freediving's future while providing mutual support.

Whether you're a seasoned competitor chasing records or considering your first competition dive, this page will guide you through the Molchanovs-sponsored events that are helping to elevate freediving worldwide.

Why We Sponsor Competitions

At Molchanovs, we sponsor competitions for three reasons:

• Advancing The Sport

Competitions drive freediving forward – when athletes push boundaries in a structured and safe environment, our entire community benefits from new techniques, improved records, and continuously polished safety protocols. Competitions also attract media attention, which brings more people into the sport and gives freediving the small steps it needs to get to the Olympics.

• Supporting Athletes At All Levels

By providing gear to organizers and safety teams, we ensure that the equipment they use is reliable and streamlines their hard work. Athletes also get the chance to win top-of-the-line equipment to help further their potential.

• Building Community

Competitions strengthen bonds within our community, whether they are in the form of friendships made, shared knowledge, or inspiration for others to try the sport.

What We Provide For Sponsored Freedivers

Freediving Competition Highlights 2025

Molchanovs continues to sponsor competitions in 2025 to share our love of freediving with the world! Check out what January to April brought athletes and competition organizers:

Costa Rica

While January is too cold for depth competitions in Europe, the AIDA Costa Rica Depth Championship in Quepos, Costa Rica, was in full force. Over 4 competition days, a staggering 15 AIDA National Records were set for Costa Rica (Estefania Dejuk, Andres Leon, and Hans Hernández M), Nicaragua (Santos Alexander Espinoza and Santos Alexander Espinoza Pavon), Moldova (Radu Salamalichi), and Panama (Maria Antonia Vergara)! Depths ranged from 23 - 61m (76 - 200ft). The overall winners received 200USD vouchers for Molchanovs gear. Check out the full list of results.

Poland

The APNEO Cup 2025 in Gdańsk, Poland, was a historic day: it was the first time athletes in Poland competed in Speed Apnea (where athletes cover a fixed distance in the shortest possible time) in Poland. Three out of five of the Speed Apnea starts resulted in red cards, showcasing just how difficult the discipline is. The competition’s live broadcast (despite a last-minute change to a different competition venue) let people at home watch athlete dives from the comfort of dry land. See the results on Apneo’s website.

Sweden

The 2nd AIDA Frozen Frog Static Challenge was a particularly interesting competition. Athletes competed only in STA, but with a catch: the competition took place in a 2°C (36°F) lake in Sweden, and participants couldn’t wear any wetsuits – only hoods, gloves, and socks. Luckily, they could also use the floating sauna at the site before and after their dive! Performances ranged between 3 seconds and 7:38. One lucky athlete received a voucher for the SPORT Wetsuit 5mm Double-Lined while the new Kids Wetsuit 2.5mm Double-Lined was up for grabs in a lottery. See how the athletes did overall.

The SM i Pool 2025 & AIDA Viking Apnea Sprint Competition in Kävlinge took place on February 28 - March 2, with 39 athletes from 8 countries competing. This included participants under 21, who received a lower entry fee to encourage juniors to compete. The competition culminated in two new AIDA Algerian National Records by Yasmine Djoumi. Welcome packs for all of the athletes included CORE Swim Caps and EQ Trainers, while two overall winners received 300USD vouchers. One under-21 participant also received a CORE One-Piece Wetsuit 2.5mm. Check out the full list of performances and results.

Croatia

The AIDA Adriatic Winter Camp 2025 took place from February 18 - 25 in Bazeni Kantrida in Rijeka. The invitation-only competition was open only for participants of the Adriatic Freediving Winter Training Camp. The competition churned out some impressive performances: up to 153m (502ft) in DNF, 173m (568ft) in DYNB, and 156m (512ft) in DYN. Overall winners received Molchanovs equipment vouchers for 150USD each – check out the results.

The AIDA Adriatic Pool Trophy 2025 overlapped with the Winter Camp competition on February 22 and 23 in Rijeka, and showed some exciting performances: a new 10:08 STA record by Vitomir Maricic (CRO), 153m (502ft) DYNB record from Cormac Brennan (IRL), a 161m (528ft) DYNB performance from Marko Radovic (SRB), and an impressive 208m (682ft) DYNB dive by Massimiliano Vidoni (ITA). Overall winners received 300USD Molchanovs vouchers – click here for the full list of performances.

Just a month later, the 17th Submania Cup - Croatian Open Cup in Pool Freediving took place in Bazen Ultrina in Zagreb. The competition not only included DNF, DYN, DYNBF, and STA, but also featured Endurance 4x50. Athletes received welcome packs that included CORE Freediving Masks, while the two top divers received 300USD vouchers from Molchanovs.

Korea

The AIDA KOREA National Championship 2025 saw an unimaginable 254 athletes performing in the pool on a single day – March 9. Two of those performances were a national record for Korea (Hakyong Kim in DYNB - 250m / 820ft) and a new AIDA Asian Continental Record (Soonsook Chung in STA - 7:48). Athletes also were entered into a lucky draw – two would win 1,150USD vouchers each to buy either a PRO Monofin 4 Carbon or PRO Hyper Bifins Carbon! See the full results list here.

Uruguay

Uruguay’s freediving competition scene is growing! On March 15 - 16, Molchanovs sponsored a competition there for the first time. Held in Montevideo, the 3rd edition of the pool event saw two new AIDA National Records for Uruguay – César Hugo Arambillete Cia in DYNB (125m / 410ft) and Cristhian Federico Perdomo in STA (5:34). The overall winners received 300USD vouchers for equipment – take a look at all the competitors’ results.

Australia

The BFC Fins are still for the Fishes Pool Comp was a fabulous competition for first-time competitors: two 300USD vouchers were awarded to the best newcomers! Meanwhile, over the course of two competition days, the competition saw two new AIDA National Record made by Antony Judge in STA (8:48) and for Venezuela by Alejandro Guedez in DNF (160m / 525ft). See all the performances and results here.
