Before you book a freediving course, take a few seconds to check who you’re trusting with your safety underwater.

A qualified instructor can make all the difference to your safety, confidence, and progression as a freediver.
If someone says they’re teaching a Molchanovs course, you can verify whether they’re currently listed as an active Molchanovs Instructor by searching for them on the Molchanovs dashboard.
The check only takes a few seconds, but it’s one of the most important things you can do before booking a course. Before you trust someone with your first breath-hold, make sure they’re qualified to teach.
Freediving is beautiful, but it must be learned safely. And remember: Verified above. Safe below.
What Does “Active Molchanovs Instructor” Mean?
Completing an instructor course is only one part of being a Molchanovs Instructor.
To remain active, instructors need to keep their ongoing instructor membership approved. This includes uploading updated and relevant insurance details, as well as current First Aid and CPR certificates. Molchanovs checks these requirements before approving active instructor status.
If an instructor is inactive for more than two years, they must go through a reactivation process. The process depends on how long they’ve been inactive.
This system exists for one reason: student safety.
When you search for an instructor through the Molchanovs dashboard, you’re not only checking whether they completed an instructor course in the past. You’re checking whether they’re currently listed as active and authorized to teach the Molchanovs curriculum.

Step 1: Go to the Molchanovs Website
Start by going to the Molchanovs website and selecting Access Dashboard from the main menu. This will take you to the Molchanovs Movement dashboard.

Step 2: Open the Instructor Search
From the Movement homepage, navigate to Instructors & Schools in the menu.
This will bring up the Find an Instructor or School search box, where you can search for active Molchanovs Instructors and Schools.

Step 3: Search by Name and Location
You can keep your search broad by leaving the location set to Worldwide, or you can search for an instructor in a specific country.
In the Any Field text box, enter the instructor’s name.

Step 4: Check Whether They Appear
If the instructor appears in the search results, you can check their profile preview and confirm their current Molchanovs Instructor status.
You can also click See more information for additional details, such as the school they teach from, the languages they teach in, their contact details, and any upcoming courses they are advertising.

Step 5: What If They Don’t Appear?
If the instructor does not appear in the search, they’re not currently listed as an active Molchanovs Instructor and are not authorized to teach the Molchanovs curriculum.
Before booking, you can ask for clarification, check the spelling of their name, or contact Molchanovs or the school directly.
But if someone can’t be verified through the Molchanovs dashboard, we don’t recommend taking a Molchanovs course with them.

Checking your instructor takes only a few seconds, but it can make a real difference to your safety. Before you pay a deposit, before you travel for a course, and before you get in the water, take a moment to verify who you’re learning from.
