Top athletes asked us for a thinner cable for their world record performances, and this is the result. The 1.5mm Freediving Lanyard is our ultralight competition lanyard, made for athletes who feel every millimeter of drag on a deep dive. Its braided stainless steel cable moves through the water with less resistance, so you hold your glide at depth. The new cuff closes with custom-made magnets that release faster than Velcro, while a built-in ridge keeps it shut until you grab it on purpose. Wear it on your wrist or ankle.
Please note: Due to the thin cable design, handle with extra care to avoid kinks or breakage. Always store coiled in a soft loop when not in use.
Magnetic quick-release cuff
Custom-made magnets on a thin wrist/ankle cuff are easier to put on and quicker to remove than Velcro in emergencies. A built-in ridge on the magnet keeps the cuff from opening by accident. It only releases when you grab it.
Watch-style strap
The strap threads through two keeper loops, like a sports watch strap, for a secure, adjustable fit. The D-ring stays secure, sandwiched between two fabric layers.
Ultra-thin cable
The 1.5mm-thick braided stainless steel cable reduces your resistance on dives, giving you improved glide at depth.
Optimal size and weight
This lanyard has the smallest dimensions of our lineup for a more compact construction and an almost-invisible feel during your competition dives.
Stronger connections, two rotation points
Stronger connections link the cable to the carabiner and cuff, and dual rotation points prevent the lanyard cable from tangling, keeping you safer underwater.
Aluminum wiregate carabiner
The Molchanovs-branded aluminum wiregate carabiner is ultralight and avoids adding any unnecessary weight on your ascent. The simple wiregate mechanism won’t bounce open by accident and won’t be damaged by icy water or cold air.
Please note: Lanyards are a critical piece of safety equipment. Inspect your lanyard before each dive and replace it immediately if you notice any signs of wear (a closure that no longer holds firmly, kinks or broken strands in the cable, rust, etc.).

Care Instructions
Rinse in fresh water directly after use (to avoid rusting and corrosion).
Allow lanyard to dry completely before storage.
Store away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
When storing, keep the lanyard in a loop or hang it from the carabiner to avoid creating kinks in the cable.
Carefully inspect the lanyard before each dive; replace if you notice any signs of damage.
A 2-year limited warranty applies. Please note that defects or damage to the equipment caused by improper or incorrect use or insufficient/improper maintenance and product care will render our warranty policy null and void.
