Carabiner material
Cable Length

The new 2.5mm Freediving Lanyard is the updated version of our PRO Freediving Lanyard—designed for freedivers of all levels for training and competition. Premium materials, a more hydrodynamic connection, and more customizable options make this the reliable safety companion for every type of freediver. Choose between a heavy stainless steel or lightweight aluminum carabiner and a 100cm- or 120cm-long cable.

Two rotation points
A rotation point at either end of the lanyard cable decreases the chance of entanglement, prioritizing safety.

Comfortable cuff
A thin, soft cuff is more comfortable strapped around your ankle or wrist.

Aluminum or stainless steel carabiners
Choose aluminum for a carabiner that gently floats behind you or a stainless steel one that sinks slightly ahead of you on your dive.

Two cable lengths
Stainless steel wire with a smooth nylon coating offers less friction and more streamlining in the water. 100cm (39.4in) is the standard lanyard cable length—choose 120cm (47.2in) if you find conventional lanyards to be too short for your dives.

Optimal cable thickness
A braided, 2.5mm stainless steel wire with nylon coating totals 3mm in diameter, balancing durability with ease of use.

Please note: Lanyards are critical piece of safety equipment. Inspect your lanyard before each dive and replace it immediately if you notice any signs of wear (weakened velcro, rusting wire, etc.).

Ice diving warning: Stainless steel carabiners are not recommended for ice diving, as cold surface temperatures can cause them to freeze shut. If you choose to use one, only clip and unclip the carabiner while submerged.

Ice Diving

The heavy stainless steel carabiner contains a steel plate that replaces the traditional spring mechanism. At temperatures below 0°C (32°F), this plate can freeze and break, making the carabiner difficult or impossible to unclip. For this reason, we do not recommend using the heavy carabiner for ice freediving.

If you are experienced with ice diving and prefer a heavy carabiner, keep it submerged at all times—do not unclip it above the water or allow it to rest on the ice. Only clip and unclip while underwater.

Care Instructions

  • Rinse completely in fresh water after directly after use (to avoid rusting and corrosion from leftover salt water residue).
  • Air dry at room temperature; do not use a hairdryer.
  • Allow lanyard to dry completely before storage.
  • Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • When storing, hang it from the carabiner to avoid creating kinks in the cable.
  • Carefully inspect the lanyard before each dive; replace if you notice any signs of damage.
