On August 15th, the freediving world’s competition season continues with the opening ceremony of the 2026 CMAS World Championship Freediving Depth. The organizers are the experienced Roatán Freediving School & Training Center managed by Esteban Darhanpe, who is hosting the CMAS World Championship for the third time. Previously, the CMAS World Championships took place at this location in 2019 and 2023.
On May 31st, the freediving world competition season started with the opening ceremony of the World Apnea (AIDA) 2026 Pool World Championships. The organizers are the biggest freediving club in Hungary: the nOxygen Apnea Club. Despite the fact that they are hosting the World Championship for the first time, they are quite experienced and known for the annual international freediving competition, the Hungarian Open Indoor Freediving Championship, traditionally held in November since 2021, implementing both AIDA and CMAS rules.
Freedivers closed out the 2025 season with record-breaking pool competitions across three continents. From Durban to Minsk and Taipei, Molchanovs-supported events highlighted global growth, national records, and unforgettable performances.
Across Camotes and Panglao, Molchanovs-sponsored events have transformed the Philippines into a hub for breakthrough performances. Athletes achieved world, continental, and national depth records, highlighting both the rapid growth of the sport and the strength of the global freediving community.
