Molchanovs Lap/Wave Instructor Trainer (W3IT) Application & Requirements

L/W3IT Application

To apply to become a L/W3IT candidate, you’ll need to put together a formal application that includes:
  • A personal CV
  • Copies of all currently active certifications (of all agencies)
  • A motivational letter: Why you want to become a Molchanovs IT
  • A description of your business and how we can help
  • A list of reference(s) (min. 1 person), preferably including a senior Molchanovs Instructor Trainer or a generally well-known person in the freediving industry that the Molchanovs Board can get in touch with for a background check
The Movement Board will hold a vote on each candidate who has submitted a complete application and met the criteria as outlined. The majority of the board must be in favor of the candidate without a veto. With the approval of the Board, a candidate is allowed to join any upcoming Molchanovs Instructor Trainer Course.

Requirements

Successful candidates will be activated as Molchanovs L/W3IT when they have passed the following additional requirements:
  • Have assisted in min. 1 complete Molchanovs Instructor Course or Molchanovs Instructor Crossover Course.
  • Have passed performance requirements on L/W3I level*.
  • Have at least 1 year of teaching experience as a Wave 3 Instructor (or equivalent in other agencies).
  • Have a minimum of 150 certifications (minimum 10 W2 and minimum 10 W3). T certifications and certifications from other agencies are counted as half a certification (e.g., 60 certifications from another agency and / or T certifications are worth 30 Wave certifications).
*If not already certified as a L/W3I

Pre-ITC Preparation

Before the start of the ITC, all candidates must:
  • Read the L/W1 - 3 manuals (in English)
  • Completed the L/W1 - 3 exams for personal testing
  • Pass the L/W2I Entry Exam
  • Review the IC Dropbox (incl. the IC slide set or handout and all instructor paperwork, all in English)
  • Pass the L/W2I Final Exam
  • Review IT Standards
  • Prepare a 5-minute marketing presentation about their freediving operation (in English)
